You know how sometimes you think you really want something but then you get it and you wish you hadn’t because you realize you were better off without it? That’s how I feel about this book. Waste of time.

… or how someone can claim to have read a book, yet mention not one specific detail when “reviewing” it.
Anyway, I make no claim as to the quality of writing, I haven’t read it (either), just replacing a bad upload. But I would prefer critiques be genuinely about the book.

Well … I actually spend money on the paperback. I was very disappointed. Giving you details about the book because “you preferred” it? I should do that! After all, you are the author. All criticisms need to be very specific … He prefers it, guys!

VERY bad sound. 25 kpbs? Really?!!
If this is the only correct version of this book, I’m of course grateful, but I compared this to previous version (128 kbps), which btw also claimed to be corrected , and the difference is just huge.
Can you upload a better version, please?

More critiques from people who I’m pretty sure have not actually listened to it …
The 1st upload was a single file with bad file headers, but audio was complete. Could be fixed if you have it and want to re-up. Just be sure it is correct. I explained at length how to fix it in the forum.
2nd version was some hours short.
3rd version was split, but often mid-word, otherwise OK.
Anyway, this is chapterised and tagged and sounds fine to me. If you “prefer” another version, feel free to find and upload it.

This is NOT History. This is Fiction.
It is (from the publisher) Genre / Category: Suspense & Thriller | Paranormal Fiction | Paranormal Romance.
Please stop adding history to your FICTION that takes place in a pseudo historical setting.

He quality checked the previous uploads and found problems with them.
1. The 1st upload was a single file with bad file headers, but audio was complete.

So… he did a great and helpful thing by uploading a copy.
Then I see…
1. Someone with personal issues who haven’t even listened to any of the versions uploaded commenting on what? Not even sure what that was about.
2. The same person is a bit sidetracked with something about buying paperbacks. Just a reminder, it is an audiobook site.
3. Another person jumping in with their 2 cents at least it is about the quality of the book and then actually reads why and self-corrects. Which is nice.
4. mishkin made me laugh, and spray my monitor with water that I was drinking.
5. Area59 gives one star for the wrong category…not about the actual quality of the upload but just the wrong category.
6. My two cents… Gweilo is a community member that does a lot for this community…. a lot… seeing the start of these comments was like watching sharks in the water. Unpleasant and really gives one pause, think about potential uploaders seeing your attack mode and how it might scare them away from uploading.

The book isnt great, uploader did an excellent job. Thank you. Historical fiction/fantasy is a genre, how did you get to the 4th book of a historical fiction series without figuring that out? Go try hard magic or alvin maker and you’ll see some stronger members of this same genre. Loved the first three.

Come on whingers, nobody forces anyone to download anything. I do agree with Gweilo about Lena29, I don’t see the point of reading a book and then coming onto a download forum to moan about how you did not like it, there are plenty of book review websites you could have discussed your opinions about the book. I will just say thank you to Gweilo for the time and effort it took him to prepare and upload the book, without ppl like him there would be no audiobookbay.

Thank you for the upload. I had a copy of the first upload that was one file. I started listening to it yesterday and found that it kept jumping back to 7:58 anytime I stopped the book and came back to it. The Books app on my iPhone wouldn’t let me skip ahead past that point. I started looking for a solution but then found this new copy instead. Thanks again Gweilo. Your contribution is appreciated.
