In a world filled with monsters and supernatural entities, the idea of schools and extracurricular activities being used to identify candidates worthy of advancing was a given.
Schools and extracurricular activities have been used as a way to provide early advantages for children who strive to work harder and prove themselves from an early age.
In this world, where academic success could literally mean the difference between life and death, many students develop emotional baggage. Fortunately for Alexa, she does not suffer from the problems that plague most of her peers.
Gifted with an intelligent mind to start, she realized early on that applying herself to both her academic and sports competitions was the number one way to succeed in this world. How can she do it? Shuffle studying, school work, and sports practice, all while being a teenager? The answer is simple: she has no emotions.
The only time she truly feels anything is when she increases her attributes. With that as her sole guiding purpose in life, she is determined to advance and grow her attributes as much as possible. What can a girl do in a supernatural world where the only thing holding her back is how hard she is willing to work?
Anything she wants.
How can a girl with no emotions learn to function as an ordinary student, at least for appearance’s sake? Simple, biting sarcasm and deadpan responses.
This is the story of Alexa Thyme, a girl unwilling to bend to a world she can’t relate to.

Constantly battling between the person she has always been and the person she wishes to be, all while being forced to walk a far more treacherous path than anyone has ever had to stride before to become a hero.
Forced to fight necromancers, corrupting elves, diabolical orcs, and far more insidious creatures of the night, Alexa finds herself striding forward, silently leading the way through the darkness. All while trying to find who she truly wishes to be when her journey is over.
This is a story of magic, trying to understand love, and finding hope.

Well, got these 2 books on just a hunch that the series is good. I have listened to the first 3 hours of the 1st book and, like it so far.

@Stplmstr: Just finished the 1st book myself and, have to agree with you….dang great book!
Writing is wonderful and, the details are really done well. Narration is solid and, I like the entire idea.

Yes/No to the LGBT. It does contain references to it but, whether or not you would say it is a true LGBT is up for grabs. There is at least 2 characters that you would say are LGBT but, others are iffy.
So, would I say it’s an LGBT book, nope. Would I say it has references to it, yes but, with context that makes it iffy for one character.

it should have woke tag. main character is handicap but not real handicap. a woman and doesn’t find anyone to date till supper creepy girl goes on first date despite going on many dates with guys despite still being emotionless. make no sense unless you run it through a ideological filter.

It’s not really LGBT in the sense of most books that is by no means a driving factor for the story it’s a good story fun book thank you for the upload I enjoyed it
